Bags: Billy Macs’ Season Tournament
August 30 | Posted by Geoff | BlogsYesterday was the end of season Bean Bag tournament at Billy Macs. I was asked to sub for team Ebony & Ivory, so since I was replacing Ebony, we were renamed Canadian Ivory.
It was a double elimination, with each match being a race to 3 wins, and we were playing on the smaller, plastic boards. Right off the bat we had to play the regular season third place team. We managed a 3-0 victory, but a couple of the games were really close. Our second match we also won 3-0, off to an impressive start. Our third match was against the regular season champs, we pulled off a 3-1 victory. Our 4th match was for the winner of the winners bracket, meaning the winner would be in the finals. This match we played regular season second place team and they pulled off a 3-2 victory and sent us into the losers bracket. Our 5th match was for the winner of the losers bracket, meaning the winning team would play in the finals, but would have to beat the winners of the winners bracket twice. We lost this one 3-1, and were eliminated, in third place.
For third place, we took $80 ($40 each). Also they had draw prizes, with everyone winning something. I believe there was 11 teams, so 22 people, with most people winning hats or t-shirts. When the hats and shirts were all gone, they drew for three games. When the games were gone, they drew for the 2 small BBQs. Finally, the last two tickets in the pot won the two coolers, one of which was mine. Than they placed all the tickets back in the pot and redrew for a digital camera. Curtis drew his own ticket, and won the camera.
All in all, it was a good day. Beer, Burgers, Sun and Music. Sucks not 3-peating, but oh well, it was still a fun day.

Side note, the only two teams we lost against were also the only two teams I subbed for during the regular season. See, aren’t I a good and loyal sub? lol
