Remembering

I remember not so long ago,
when you would sit next to me.
I remember I loved it so,
there was no place I’d rather be.
I remember your gentle voice,
and all you had to say.
I remember I had no choice,
as deeper I’d fall each day.
I remember those little glances,
that at times we had shared.
I remember all those chances,
I had to say I cared.
I remember my strong affection,
and that I never told you.
I remember the fear of rejection,
now I fear I’ll never hold you.
I remember watching you leave,
I wanted to yell out “no.”
I remember I couldn’t believe,
that I didn’t say “don’t go.”
I remember I let you walk away,
without even saying a word.
I remember the feelings I wished to say,
are feelings you’ve never heard.
I remember not so long ago,
when you would sit next to me.
I remember, and this I know,
you are my favorite memory.

Never let those whom you care for become only a memory.
Keep them in you life.
