He Sits 2
He sits amazed, transfixed
at all God may have made.
He sits and wonders if she realizes,
it’s okay to be afraid.
He sees her sitting there,
startled by an eagle’s cry.
He doesn’t question that she believes,
he only questions why?
He understands the comforts,
that come with belief.
He can grasp the feeling of love,
a constant through her joys and her grief.
He truly wishes to be like her,
and have something to believe in.
He can see in her face,
that her life has meaning.
But he wonders if it’s all,
just another person’s story.
Tainted by mankind’s desire,
to give God his glory.
He truly feels mankind believes,
that the world revolves around them.
He see the influence of this belief,
in every passage, in every hymm.
But as he listens to the eagle,
soaring up above.
He wonders if this eagle,
is any less worthy of God’s love.
He looks beyond her to a tree,
it’s branches reaching for the sky.
He wonders if it has a relationship with God,
and if not, then why?
He wonders why it is,
that of all God’s creations,
Mankind is the only one,
with conditions upon it’s salvation?
He doesn’t see how,
we can even assume to understand.
For we can’t look through the eyes of God,
as if God were a man.
He cannot bring himself to believe,
what he’s read, what he’s heard.
For it’s more about God’s relationship with us,
than it is God’s word.
He believes God’s love is there,
free for all God’s creations.
There are no rules or conditions,
no certain obligations.
He doesn’t trust in any books,
or words that are written.
He trusts in God,
and the heart he was given.
He believes in doing the right thing,
because it’s the right thing to do.
Not because heaven and God,
will be waiting for you.
He believes in this,
and he starts to smile.
For all this time,
he believed all the while.
